There is a reason Kauai is known as the Garden Isle. Mount Wai’ale’ale, one half of the island’s two-peak former volcano, averages over 40 feet of rain a year. Those who have traveled to the mountain report that it represents one of the most stunning, verdant and exhilarating experiences to be found anywhere in the Pacific. No wonder, so many pilgrims make this island their destination year after year.

Kauai has it all–romantic sunset cruises, enchanted grottos and the deep pastel ridges of Waimea Canyon, once called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific by Mark Twain. This is a place of dazzling vistas and inexhaustible natural splendor, where state parks and bird sanctuaries nestle up against waterfalls and hidden coves. Visitors relish the slower pace of life here and count their days on the island’s plentiful white sand among their most indulgent memories.
