How to Find that Perfect Hawaii Real Estate Agent for your Specific Needs

April 14th, 2011 No comments

The best real estate agent is not the one with the most experience on the job, or the one with the most successful sales under their name. No, the ideal real estate agent is the one who will be ready to listen to you, the one who you can get along with easily, and more importantly the one who has the skills and knowledge and expertise to address your specific situation. The same way home buyers are different, so are real estate agents with their different specialties and skills.

There are home buyers who have to deal with credit problems, there are those who want to sell their current one while at the same time buy a new home, there are those who want to buy out of the state among many others. So, how do you find that perfect real estate agent to meet your specific needs?

Give the vibe factor serious consideration – while professional expertise is a very critical component to look at in a realtor, great interpersonal skills are equally as important. If not for anything else because you will be working with this individual anywhere from 2-12 months, hence it really helps to find someone you can easily get along with. While we all have our distinctive personalities, while interacting with someone at a professional level, it really helps if your personalities can ‘mesh’ with each others.

Dig a little into their hunting skills – when talking to a real estate agent, you need to dig deeper on how they conduct their home searching. The bottom line is that you would want what is best for you as an individual and not what works for the agent. You will find that some agents prefer to use some favorite listings that they love but ensure the agent is ready to search both on high and low ends of the market to find exactly what you want… you are paying them now aren’t you? This could mean using the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) plus their personal network.

Talk to several real estate agents – this should not be construed to mean that you should exhaust yourself talking and interviewing one agent after another. No, it means you talk to at least 3 or four so you can see who is most suitable for your specific needs and who you are most comfortable with.

Get referrals – inquire from your close friends and relatives since nobody knows you better than them. They are always in a better position to recommend a real estate agent who they know you can work with comfortably and who they know is well suited for your specific needs. Of course they know your character and personality and will always recommend someone you will get along with easily.

When all is said and done, you need to find the perfect Hawaii real estate agent for your work and once you land on that special one, ensure you read the paperwork carefully. This is very important and it is for a very valid reason. Ensure you go through all documents including the agreement between you and the agent because the last thing you would want is to end up with some hidden clauses that would cost you a lot in the end.

When a person decides that they want to go to Hawaii the place for fun in the Sun, they may decide that they want to visit Waikiki. This is a very popular area simply because it is Hawaii at its best, with traditions that are deeply rooted into everything that takes place in the area. For those that think that this sounds heavenly, there are many that would agree with you. When making travel arrangements for when you want to get to the area as well as when you actually get there, the person should realize that there are a few different methods available to them.

For those that are wanting to get to Waikiki that live in the United States or other countries, then the easiest and fastest way to get to Waikiki is by flying. There are major airlines that have flights landing each and every day, sometimes multiple times throughout the day. There are those that would prefer to take a ship in order to get to Hawaii, which is a bit slower, however, many people enjoy the trip to get there just as much as they like going to the area that they have wanted to visit.

Once you land in Hawaii, you are going to have to rent a car or take a cab to get to Waikiki, which you choose is really up to you, however, most people prefer to take a cab since they will not have to worry about dropping of the car later. Those that stay in Waikiki are going to find that they are not going to need a rental car that much if they are going to stay in the area. Those that are wanting to explore, may find that renting a four wheel drive will be more beneficial to them as they can go on the trails that are around the area.

There are also those that find having a bicycle is an excellent way to get around from one area to another since it allows for people to get there faster than walking, without having to worry about traffic, which can be heavy at some times all over the island. And of course, if you are wanting to go from island to island, then you are going to have to look into traveling by boat, however, there are many companies that are there to arrange a boat for your personal use, or you can simply take the next scheduled ferry to the island that you want.
